Fabric:
A ribbon-shaped metallic yarn made of aluminum, which is coated with plastic. Garments do not stick to the skin when heated, as body moisture is evenly distributed throughout the fabric. Normally, Lurex shows a silver sheen but can be offered in very many color variations through the addition of dye pigments. Lurex remains most beautiful when steamed.
